Summer at Sun Peaks Resort

Sun Peaks Resort offers a number of great activities all year long. In fact, the resort offers something for everyone. Play a round of golf, take a hike, try one of the many mountain bike trails, play a round of tennis or just relax by the Sports Center pool.

Mountain Biking

Discover what's under the snow! With over 25 single track trails to choose from and a high-speed quad that places you and your bike 2000 vertical feet over the village, there should be no reason not to try mountain biking at Sun Peaks this summer. Mountain bike rentals are available in the village.

Golf

Nestled at the foot of Mount Morrisey, Sun Peaks Golf Course has everything the avid Golfer is looking for. This astounding 18 hole golf course offers natural foliage and spectacular, breathtaking alpine views. Opening scheduled for mid-May (weather permitting).

Hiking

The top of the Sunburst chair offers walkers spectacular views. Exploring the alpine meadows is full bloom can't be missed. A variety of well marked trails give access to the meadows for all visitors to enjoy. Guided tours are available during Alpine Blossom Season (Alpine Blossom season begins around the end of July and goes until mid August).

Alpine Hiking Tours

Discover the beauty of Sun Peaks.   Explore alpine meadows, mountain peaks and lakes with one of Sun Peaks' experienced local guides.   Learn about the local history, flora and fauna all while taking in the incredible views and fresh mountain air (minimum of 2 people per tour). 

Bear Tracks Eco-Walk

This valley walk allows you to explore the natural environment of the Black Bears that inhabit Sun Peaks. Join one of Sun Peaks' experienced local interpretive guides and learn about the bears' behavior, habitat, winter survival adaptations and what to do when one encounters a bear.

Bungee Trampoline

This is one of Sun Peaks' most popular activities for kids and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Located at the base of the Sunburst Chair, this thrill ride is a must try.

Canoe and Inflatable Kayak Rentals

Make your own adventure by canoe or kayak any day of the week. Participants must have prior experience; all necessary safety gear is included in the rentals.  

The inflatable kayaks come with all the necessary straps to attach to the top of your vehicle, so you can tour many of the surrounding lakes. If you prefer a tour, than you'll love the 2 hour guided tour on one of the local lakes near Sun Peaks Resort (1 or 2 person occupancy in kayaks).

Photo Shoots and Clinics

Spend some time with a professional photographer and get great tips for taking action shots on the mountain and family portraits in and around the village. If you are looking to perfect your photography skills, then join the 4 hour photo clinic that is available, please bring along your own camera.

Sports Centre

The Sun Peaks Sport Centre features a year round, heated outdoor/indoor pool, hot tubs and kid's pool.   There are shower facilities available and a tennis court that is open during the summer months. Please call for hours of operation and daily admission rates.

Trail Rides

Saddle up and head out on a guided trial ride through Sun Peaks' back country, where you can take in the breathtaking mountain scenery and the wide variety of local flora and fauna.   Enjoy the pristine lakes and the many sights that this amazing resort has to offer.

Voyageur Canoe

Take a trip into Canada's storied past by paddling an authentic voyageur canoe around the local lakes of Sun Peaks (Minimum of 6 people).
