Mountain Biking Trails

Sun Peaks offers various mountain biking trails, ranging from easy to advanced. The Progression Park is a great place to start, featuring five trails that allow riders to practice their skills in a safe environment.

Easy Wind is an introductory trail for chairlift access riding, with low berms, smooth rollers, and panoramic views. Level Up is a top-to-bottom route back to the village, suitable for beginners to advanced riders, and finishes in the Progression Park. Lever Lovers is similar to Switcheroo but with more technical sections, while Morning Dew is a low-grade, wide, and mellow beginner connector trail.

The bike park also offers trails for cross-country riders, such as Altitude and Big Rock Ride. Altitude is an advanced intermediate trail with technical rock and root sections, short sharp climbs, and flowy turns through alpine wildflower meadows. Big Rock Ride provides a fun cross-country style descent through sub-alpine forests.

For intermediate freeriding, Sun Peaks offers a variety of trails. Freeriding trails include Gummy Bear, Holy Rollers, and Might As Well. Milhouse is coming soon and will be the easiest blue technical trail, while Behind Bars feature intermediate woodwork and lots of cornering. Biker Cross has step-ups, doubles, tables, a hip, and berm after berm, while Kaboom offers technical singletrack, rock faces, drops, and steep loose shale sections.

For advanced free-riders, Stella Blue offers creative features to progress intermediate riders, while Bad Habit serves as the next step in freeride progression with larger features. DH is a full-throttle descent with moderate rock drops and fast-flowing berms, and Hi Octane is technical singletrack with rock and root sections.

Sun Peaks mountain biking trails offer something for everyone: panoramic views, flowy turns, and technical challenges. Riders should always practice safety and yield to other trail users.

The Progression Park is a new addition to the Bike Park. It is the perfect place for kids and beginners of all ages to practice the core skills of mountain biking. Improve your riding technique in a safe and progressive environment.

Mountain Bike Rentals

Sun Peaks is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts during all seasons. One of the best ways to explore the mountain and surrounding trails is by renting a bike. Elevation is the on-mountain source for Sun Peaks rentals, offering a variety of options for both downhill and cross-country biking.

Located conveniently in the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and open daily during Bike Park lifts operations, Elevation provides easy access to rental bikes, components, gear, and accessories. With bike rentals in high demand during the summer months, booking online in advance is recommended to ensure availability and your first choice of bike. Elevation offers downhill and enduro bike rentals for those seeking a thrill, with the Rocky Mountain Slayer Park and the Rocky Mountain Altitude being their go-to downhill and all-mountain options, respectively.

High-performance bikes are also available for those who prefer them. If cross-country biking is more your style, Elevation has you covered with various bikes to fit the bill. All bike rental rates at Elevation include an XC helmet rental. The Valley Bike and Valley E-Bike options are great for exploring the village, valley XC trails, and the Progression Park. However, they are not permitted on the chairlift.

To make your biking experience even better, Elevation offers a variety of protection and accessories to rent. It’s recommended to lock in your protection and accessories with your bike rental to save money. Equipment without a bike rental is also available from 12:00 pm (subject to availability). Guests are encouraged to check the Elevation website for the most up-to-date pricing and offerings.
