Start your hiking adventure with a ride up to the mid-mountain with the Sunburst chairlift.
There are many different hiking trails and view points. You can choose your own route. But here is a recommendation from us: This hike takes about 3,5 hours including a 30 minutes break at the summit of Mount Tod. Trail #9 – Gil’s trail will bring you to trail #7 – West Bowl trail. Go left or right to get to trail #11 – Tod Peak trail that will lead up to the peak of Mount Tod. Take in the astonishing view at the peak and don’t forget to take a photo with the Mount Tod Summit sign!
Witness the stunning wildflower meadows! Alpine Blossom Season is usually between mid-July to mid-August.
To hike back to the chairlift take a different trail to explore as much as possible on your hiking adventure. Hike down the trail #11 – Tod Peak trail and keep right onto trail #7 – West Bowl trail. After a short hike take the trail #10 – West Ridge Trail. Trail #5 and then #2 will bring you back to the mid-mountain. Before you take a relaxing chairlift ride back down to the village, grab a coffee at the Sunburst Bar + Eatery to rest after this amazing hike.

BEAR AWARE
Sun Peaks is home to black bears and other wildlife. You may encounter a black bear during your stay. If you do see a bear always keep your distance, many wildlife professionals recommend remaining a minimum of 100 metres away.
GUIDED ALPINE HIKING TOURS
Exploring the alpine meadows in full bloom is a sight not to be missed. A variety of well marked trails give access to the meadows for all visitors to enjoy. Guided tours are available during Alpine Blossom Season. Alpine Blossom season begins around mid-July and goes until mid-August.
