Sun Peaks Resort Info
Located near the city of Kamloops, with skiing and trails atop Tod and Sundance Mountains and Mt. Morrisey, Sun Peaks Ski Resort’s history dates back to the early 1960s. The resort and terrain have enjoyed numerous awards since the 1990s, and a record number of winter skiers visited the resort in 2018.
Besides the many outdoor activities at Sun Peaks like skiing, golfing, biking, or hiking, you’ll also find the resort area home to the Sun Peaks Village centre, with shopping, dining, and indoor and outdoor fun including mini golf, ice skating, axe throwing, and fitness and massage spas.
Sun Peaks Lifts
The lift system at Sun Peaks Ski Resort consists of three detachable high-speed quads (one, called the Sunburst Express, is even equipped with weather protectors, which is a rarity for Canada), four 4-person fixed-grip quads, two J-bar lifts, and three people movers/moving carpet lifts that move beginners to practice slopes. The entire system can move nearly 20,000 skiers per hour!

Sun Peaks Trails
You’ll find more than 130 ski trails in the skiable areas over the three mountains of the Sun Peaks Ski Resort. Of those, nearly 60% are intermediate trails, with 32% advanced or expert trails and 10% for novice or beginner skiers. Amongst the trails, you will find options for multiple disciplines like downhill or Nordic skiing.
In the summer months, you can take advantage of miles of mountain biking and bicycling trails as well as five hiking trails.

Sun Peaks Terrain Park
Boasting one of the largest snow parks in all of Canada, the terrain parks at Sun Peaks offer zones for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
You’ll find rails, jumps, and boxes for all levels, as well as beginner obstacles at Rockstar Terrain Park. The park offers some great opportunities for freestyle snowboarding!
At the base station of the Sundance Express lift starts Green Terrain Park, and the park runs the entire length of the lift. This is a great spot for beginner skiers and snowboarders, with some easy obstacles for freestylers. There are clear-marked zones for beginners, intermediate, and expert skiers and snowboarders, with small to large features such as ride-on and jump-on rails, large and medium half pipes, and surface-level rails.
A dedicated Terrain Park crew, with groomers and snowmakers, ensure that the terrain is fresh and well kept, with the layout and features updated for continuous adventures.
